Our English speaking driver guide will meet clients at their centrally located Amsterdam Hotel at 9.00am For a scenic drive to Zaanse Schans. Admire the Dutch countryside as you head out of the capital city, passing a picturesque landscape of wooden houses and windmills.
When you arrive in Zaanse Schans, our guide will inform you about this charming village, renowned for its 17th- and 18th-century buildings that vividly depict historical Dutch life. First, tour the town and enjoy up-close photo ops of its famous windmills. Then, see the clog-making skills of a Dutch shoemaker as you learn about woodworking techniques first hand.
Next, enjoy a 20-minute boat ride to Volendam and Marken, renowned fishing villages where traditional wooden houses stand on stilts. take in the lovely scene and admire the colorful Dutch dresses that some of the women still wear. Then,with our guide to a local cheese factory for a demonstration and delicious tasting of cheese crafted in the traditional way. This afternoon we make our way to Keukenhof Gardens
Taking in the spectacular sight of Holland’s fields awash with colorful tulips, at their peak in spring. At the gardens, enjoy three hours of free time to explore more than 80 acres (32 hectares) of seasonal displays that include seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. |
