Today you are greeted at Catania port and drive to Etna Natural Park-South Side (Rifugio Sapienza) a beautiful Volcano rich in sounds, perfumes, and colors.
On arrival, those interested in experiencing the Etna craters will have the option to purchase cable car tickets on the spot (weather and volcanic conditions permitting) to experience the lava fields and incredible landscape view from Europe’s highest and most active volcano on their own. Reaching Etna Refuge at 1900 mts we will have time for trekking or optional ascent to the area of the main craters with authorized alpine guides. Later back to Catania port.
How to Ascent to the TOP?
Upon arrival to Rifugio Sapienza we can:
1) ascent the volcano up to 2.500 meters
from Rifugio Sapienza we can catch on the first cable car ride (Cable Car fee: eur 28,30 per person payable on the spot) up to 2.500 meters (Montagnola). Upon arrival at 2500 meters we can walk around or hiking or just take a cappuccino at the bar overlooking the area.
2) ascent the volcano up to 2.920 meters
from Rifugio Sapienza we can take the cable car ride up to 2.500 meters. Upon arrival at 2500 meters (Montagnola) we can walk around or hiking or just take a cappuccino at the bar overlooking the area. Then on board on the UNI-MOG (mini-coach WD4X4) to reach 2.800 meters with Etna Guide (Cable Car & Uni Mog fee: eur 55,00 per person payable on the spot).

The Driver Escort is not a Licensed Tourist Guide (Licensed Tourist Guide: are the only professionals -- with a Regional license -- permitted to conduct visits and tours in all sites and museums within a city) and he cannot escort you inside the monuments because this is not allowed by Italian Rules. CATANIA PORT:
The Port Authority in Catania has limited the access in the Port area and our staff will be pleased to meet & greet you outside the Docking Pier. Despite the long distance between the docking pier and the port exit (around 900 meters walking distance) we are unable to solve this matter because, the Catania port authority has introduced a really expensive fee to allow private vehicles to enter inside the port area.
