Private Driver Guides

Why not consider using one of our private driver guides for customized sightseeing tours around Great Britain. We offer modern and air conditioned six seat passenger vehicles with registered Tourist Board Blue Badge guides who know their stuff.

Here are some examples of the interesting and exciting ways to explore Great Britain that we offer to our clients.

'London At Its Best'

Our private driver guide will meet you at your London hotel introduce you to London's main attractions. Visits to all major sights are included including Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. This tour also offers viewings of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, St. Pauls Cathedral and the Crown Jewels.

'Ancient Britain'

We begin with pick up from the London hotel and take a scenic drive to Stonehenge, one of Englands oldest and impressive monuments which dates back 5,000 years. From there, we visit Salisbury Cathedral for a viewing of its' 404 foot high Spire and one of the four remaing copies of the Magna Carta, signed by King John in 1215. Next, we make our way to the Georgian city of Bath where we will see the 18 th Century architecture, Royal Crescent, Bath Abby and Pultney Bridge. Finally, we return to London via the beautiful Avon Valley.

'The Garden of England'

We begin with a morning collection by driver guide from London hotel. The route takes us along the 'Pilgrim's Way' to the County of Kent. During our visit we will visit Leeds Castle, often described as 'the loveliest castle in the World.' Once a Royal Palace for the wife of King Edward I, it is now home to a superb collection of medieval furnishings not to mention attractive grounds and aviary. Next, we make our way to Canterbury via a traditional English pub. Canterbury was considered the center of English Christianity up until the arrival of St. Augustine in 597. The cathedral dates back to the 11 th Century and is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury. This historic city and cathedral set the scene for the murder of Thomas Becket in 1170. Finally, we visit Chartwell, the former home of Sir Winston Churchill, before returning to London.

Touring with our Driver Guides

It will be our pleasure to create a customized tour of Great Britain with your own private car and driver.

Please see below example of a personalized tour created for one of our clients:

Day One

A morning departure from London hotel begins with a trip down the Pilgrims way with breaks to marvel at the lovely Leeds Castle in the morning and the historic city of Canterbury in the afternoon. Our home for the night will be at traditional English pub, the Dog and Bear located in Lenham, Kent. This charming village with its antique shops and quaint character never fails to impress. The hotel itself is a former 16 th Century Coaching Inn that boasts a hosting of Queen Anne herself in 1704. Her coat of arms can be seen over the entrance to the pub. In the evening, we enjoy a pint with the locals before retiring to one of the newly renovated and charming rooms.

Day Two

This morning, after a hearty English breakfast, we leave the village of Lenham and head West. First stop will be Chartwell, the former home of Sir Winston Churchill before continuing on to Stonehenge, one of the world's oldest and most mystical monuments. The afternoon promises a trip to Salisbury for a a viewing of the Cathedral with its' 404 foot spire. Later on in the afternoon, we travel to the Burghope Manor, our stop for the next two nights and the home of hosts, Lord and Lady Denning. For more information regarding this charming Manor House, please visit www.burghopemanor.co.uk

Day Three

After another delicious English Breakfast, we continue our exploration with a visit to the Georgian City of Bath. In the afternoon, we will visit the little known Saxon village of Lacock. This location has provided a setting for many movies and television dramas including Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' and, more recently, the Harry Potter movies. We will have a chance to explore this village on foot before returning to the Burghope Manor.

Day Four

This morning we bid goodbye to Burghope and make our way through the enchanting Cotswolds. We will visit Oxford where a walking tour of the 'City of Dreaming Spires' awaits us. Oxford is famous all over the world for it's Universities which have been attended by many scholars including the former US President, Bill Clinton. This city is also said to have inspired Lewis Carroll in his writing of the classic 'Alice in Wonderland.' In the afternoon, we continue on our journey through the Cotswolds visiting the quaint church town of Burford and Bourton on the Water which is often referred to as the 'Venice of the Contswolds'. Further stops include Bladon Church which houses the grave of William Shakespeare and Stratford Upon Avon, his birthplace and our stop for the night. Overnight will be spent at the Swan's Nest Hotel in the heart of Stratford Upon Avon.

Day Five

In the morning we visit the very birthplace of Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the history of the English language, and Anne Hathaway's Cottage, home to his wife and children. In the afternoon, we make our way to Warwick for a visit to Warwick Castle that dates back over 1,000 years. Whilst in Warwick, we will be able to visit the Madame Tussauds waxworks to watch and hear the Earl of Warwick's preparations for battle. After an tour of the dungeons, we will return to London arriving at approximately 19:00.
