Private tour with driver and personal English speaking guide

Your driver and English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00AM

Founded in 1066, Bergen was Norway's largest center for commerce and shipping until the 1830s, and home to the overseas trading offices of Hanseatic merchants for several centuries. Time magazine chose to name the city one of Europe's 14 "secret capitals". Bergen's capital consists of maritime businesses and activities such as aquaculture and marine research.

Your tour begins with a drive along Bryggen and the Hanseatic Pier, with its old wooden warehouses from the Hanseatic period. Next, you'll pass the main sights of the city, including Haakons Hall. Erected during the reign of King Haakon Haakonsson from 1247-1261, it was the largest and most imposing building of the royal residence during a time when Bergen was the political hub of Norway. You'll continue on past Rosenkrantz Tower, built as a combination fortress and residence around 1560 AD. Among the other interesting sites to be seen are Bergen's oldest building, Mary's Church, which dates back to the 12th century, and Grieg Hall, where the renowned Bergen Music Festival takes place every May.
