Your English speaking driver guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:30am. First we head for Sinaia for a visit to Peles Castle set in the lush woodlands outside of Bucharest. King Carol 1 of the Romanians (1839-1914) one of the first great Romanians and conqueror of the National Independence, first visited the region and future site of the castle in 1866, when he fell in love with the rugged but magnificent scenery. The area became the royal hunting preserve and summer retreat for the monarch.
Our lunch stop will be in Azuga where we will enjoy wine tasting at Rhein Azuga Cellars famous for its sparkling wine that has been produced since 1892 when a German merchant set up the Rhein & Cie company.
