After meeting your guide on the pier, you will drive to a panoramic spot where you will have the opportunity to have a bird's eye view of the walled town of Dubrovnik and the scenic Croatian coast. You will then drive to the main entrance of the walled town where you will begin your walking tour by climbing on one of three major entrances to the Walls.
Walls have always been a part of Dubrovnik's history and have been mentioned in writings as far back as the 9th century A.D. when the Saracens besieged the city for 15 months before giving up. The city was completely enclosed by walls by the 13th century A.D. and they continued to fortify and repair them from that time on. The ramparts are intact and encircle the old city with a circumference of more than a mile and a half.
You will see the gorgeous Minceta Fortress, St. John`s Fortress, Bokar Fortress and the rest of the city from above.
After touring the walls you will have the opportunity to explore the town on your own during your free time before rejoining your transfer back to the pier.
