Your English speaking driver guide will meet you at your hotel. It was at Waterloo, in June 1815, that the Allied Anglo-Dutch Forces, under the command of the Duke of Wellington and the Prussians, led by Field-Marshall Blücher, put an end to Napoleon’s dreams of Empire,
thereby turning over a new page in European history.

Climb the Lion’s mound and discover the perfectly preserved battlefield where 300.000 men from 7 nations confronted one another.  This battlefield has changed greatly since 1815 but nevertheless dotted with historic buildings and commemorative monuments we will visit.

At the food of the “Butte du Lion”, an interesting Visitor Centre, has an audio-visual presentation which takes the audience into the very heart of events of June 18th 1815…  Several other places of interests will be visited. The Panorama, a huge fresco, complete with sound effects, transports you to the heart of the battle. The Wellington museum, the inn where the Duke of Wellington set up his headquarters.

The old farm known as “Le Caillou”, where Napoleon established his headquarters at the end of the combat.  We will end this visit by enjoying local pastries in a historical farm.
