We will drive you through the romantic Viale dei Colli to Piazzale Michelangelo where we stop to admire the breathtaking view of the city, spread out beneath us - one of the most beautiful in the world.
The tour continues by coach down into the center of the oldest part of the town. The tour proceeds with a guided visit on foot of the Santa Maria del Fiore or Duomo complex: the Baptistery with its gilded bronze doors including the famous Doors of Paradise and a walk around the exterior of the Cathedral with the magnificent Brunelleschi Dome and Giotto’s Belfry with its fascinating marble statues and reliefs.
A short walk through the historical streets of the heart of Florence takes one past stately, rusticated stone Palazzo Medici Riccardi, where young Michelangelo lived as a guest of Lorenzo the Magnificent, to the renowned Gallery of the Accademia* where one can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist.
The guided tour ends inside the museum where you can explore further at your own pace.
*The Gallery of the Accademia is closed on Mondays: it will be replaced by a visit to the Bargello National Museum of Sculpture or the Medici Chapels.
